Carbon trades at different prices around the world, depending on Government plans and compliances to Green House gas emissions. Canada has taken Carbon Trading to a new level. New Zealand is trading at about $40/t. The Australian Government, however, reluctant to put a fair price on Carbon because of the extensive Coal and Coal Seam Gas industry, trails at $14/t.
If governments are to meet their growing obligations to mitigate climate change and reduce biodiversity loss, the price of Carbon will increase.
